The long awaited PHPmotion v3 is now in closed beta! Beta testers were chosen from the community members who met a pre-determined set of requirements at the PHPmotion forum. It’s the beta testers duty to find any bugs in the software and report them to the PHPmotion staff for repair. Once bugs are repaired, the fixes are released in the form of nightly builds. The beta testers then update their test sites to the newest revision and start the search for the pesky little software bugs again. After the beta testers and dev team find and repair all of the bugs they can, PHPmotion v3 will be released for a public beta. When the public beta is released, it is hoped that most of the bugs in the script will have already been repaired.

V3 of the popular “Youtube Clone” script promises to be a big improvement over previous versions with such features as an integrated photo gallery and built in blogging, although PHPmotion will still be a video sharing website script at heart. Other features (available as paid addons) will include a profile pimping mod that will allow site members to customize their personal profile pages in ways much like social networking sites (myspace, etc…), other paid add-ons will be available but have not been announced yet.

Keep in mind that this site is still running an early copy of the script which in many ways is outdated. You still will get an idea of how the new script will look and function however.
